2021 Scholar’s Corner

Victoria Hazeley

Victoria Hazeley is currently a student at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, majoring in Political Science. In high school, she was in the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, and Friends of Rachel. Also, she volunteered at animal shelters and her church, Bibleway Temple, feeding the less fortunate and helping in fundraisers. In college, she is currently trying out for Moot Club and looking for other clubs that will help her experience college and her potential future career, a lawyer, and grow as an individual. While in college, she wants to learn more about her major and become a well-rounded person, so she can be a productive member of society and help the world become a better place for everyone.

Osazee Nosa

Osazee Nosa

Osazee Nosa is currently a third year at Steven’s Institute of Technology in Hoboken NJ. He is currently studying Electrical Engineering and has an interest in green energy sources like solar energy. In high school, he was an Executive member of the National Honors Society, Student Government Association, and a Captain of Glassboro’s Varsity Football team. In college, he has held an Executive position with his institution’s chapter of the Black Student Union and is an active participate of the Co-op program. While in this program, Osazee has been able to work for Anheuser-Busch in Newark NJ and SRI International in Princeton NJ to get valuable engineering experience as an undergrad. In his free time, Osazee likes to learn about finances, how to build and maintain wealth, and mentor high school seniors that are in the process of transitioning to college. His home church is Emanuel Baptist Church in Glassboro and they have help raised him from birth into the young man he is now.

Darrell Johnson

Darrell Johnson is currently a second year student at New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey where he is majoring in Computer Science with a focus on software engineering. While in college, Darrell has been a part of multiple organizations such as a community service group known as a Change-builders, and the African American Student Union where he and other students look to organize fun events safe for a pandemic and raise awareness about current events. Darrell was also able to gain experience in programming during an internship with BAE Systems where he learned more about life as a software engineer and worked in a fast-paced competitive environment. When free, Darrell usually enjoys exercising or playing basketball. Recently, he has also begun to try and study multiple computer languages when he has the time.
